The results are in. The Chicago pilot program and evaluation have been completed and the results clearly indicate that KnowConflict’s online Conflict Management for High Schools Students improves students’ attitudes toward violence and increases their knowledge of conflict management skills.
Chicago Public Schools partnered with KnowConflict, LLC to pilot an after-school violence prevention program utilizing KnowConflict’s online Conflict Management for High School Students. The pilot program, which was offered to students in 18 Chicago high schools, commenced November 13, 2001 and lasted for approximately 10 weeks.
At the conclusion of the pilot program, the data was forwarded to Arizona State University for evaluation. Just finalized, the report concluded that the data obtained from the pilot program indicated that the course produced beneficial results in both attitudes toward violence and knowledge of conflict management skills. In addition, these beneficial changes were equivalent for both boys and girls.
We are delighted with the results. Having objective evidence of the program’s efficacy is important to all of us. Our program is unique. Research based, field-tested and now empirically validated, we have directed online learning to address an issue of great need and concern.
Our program is ready today to help the students get the life skills education that they need and deserve.
Violence prevention is importance to all of us. Many studies have concluded that conflict management/resolution programs do indeed work. KnowConflict has developed and now tested an online violence prevention program that teaches conflict management and conflict resolution skills to high schools students.
