Blumenthal, Chief Executive Officer
The
founder and Chief Executive Officer of KnowConflict, LLC, Mr.
Blumenthal has been involved in the planning and management of
numerous accounting, consulting and litigation support engagements
throughout his 29-year professional career. He is a former shareholder
and managing partner of a large Phoenix, Arizona CPA firm, which
he joined in 1978 following six years experience with two of the
former "big eight" accounting firms. An experienced mediator,
arbitrator, and court-appointed provider of neutral services,
for the past seven years Mr. Blumenthal has focused his efforts
in the areas of alternative dispute resolution, business consulting
and teaching. He has been appointed Special Master and Settlement
Master in both civil and domestic relations cases, and has testified
numerous times as an expert witness for the Superior Court of
Arizona.
Mr.
Blumenthal founded KnowConflict to fill the need he saw for conflict
management education on a widespread scale. He believes distance-learning
products delivered via the Internet can spread conflict management
information, techniques, and tools faster and to a much larger
and more diverse audience than any other method. Utilizing his
experience in finance and management, he has been integral to
the establishment of all aspects of the Company's business model.
Through his professional experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution,
he has extensive contacts in related academic fields, and has
attracted a team of highly credible content providers to work
with KnowConflict in program development. Mr. Blumenthal is a
graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and holds professional
memberships in the Arizona Dispute Resolute Resolution Association,
the American Arbitration Association, the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified
Public Accountants.

Jim
Layne, President
Mr.
Layne brings to KnowConflict a strong managerial background and
a proven track record in marketing, sales and administration.
His leadership approach for the Company combines strategic marketing
with creative applications of technology structured to produce
online environments that are both entertaining and educational.
In partnership with Lonnie Whittington (see below), he was a founder
of Sandbox Entertainment, a site with one of the most loyal followings
on the Web (trailing only eBay, Hotmail and Yahoo!). There, Mr.
Layne developed the Sandbox business model along with highly effective
e-commerce and incentive marketing programs. These included co-marketing
arrangements with CNNfn, CNN/SI, Yahoo!, FoxSports, USA Today,
Lycos, and others. His efforts, in tandem with CNN/SI, produced
the largest sports fantasy site on the Internet. Sandbox.com has
more than 2.4 million registered players, and delivered more than
1 billion page views in 1999 to become the fourth "stickiest"
site on the entire Internet.
Prior
to Sandbox, Mr. Layne served as a partner and vice president of
marketing at TRACER Design, a full-service marketing communications
firm. As the Internet emerged as a public medium, he began developing
market strategies to make the Internet commercially useful for
TRACER clients. A graduate of the University of Hawaii with a
B.S. in biology, Mr. Layne has served in leadership roles with
the Arizona Chapter of the Business Professional Advertising Association,
the Business Marketing Communications Association, and Technology
Marketing Associates.
